Mon County Commissioner Sues County's Board Of Education

The newest member of the Monongalia County Commission has filed a lawsuit against the county Board of Education in hopes something will change, so he can attend commission meetings.

Tom Bloom was elected as a commissioner last November. In that election he beat out former school board member Joe Statler.
Bloom currently works as a guidance counselor at Morgantown High School, but in the lawsuit filed Thursday he claims the board won't let him use a policy called "flex-time" to attend commission meetings.
Earlier this year other members of the commission agreed to move meetings to the afternoon until Bloom could find a resolution to his issue.
A hearing on the matter is scheduled for April 29.
