Mountain Line To Stop Free Bus Service In Morgantown

The Mountain Line Transit Authority approved a proposal tonight that will get rid of free shuttles in downtown Morgantown.

The routes included are between Garrett Street, Courthouse Square, and Unity Manor.  This proposal won't actually cut any service, but it will no longer be provided free of charge.  The board expects little impact from this since many riders on that route are senior citizens who already can get a free bus pass.

The change is set to go into effect January 1st.  Anyone with concerns is asked to contact the transit authority on their website: www.busride.org.
