Just when we thought it was over, we were wrong again. Skylar Neese's body is supposedly being kept from her family, and her dad is prepared to stage a protest, and even get arrested to get her back.
"You have no idea, the h*** we've been through," said Dave Neese.
Seems to be a never-ending nightmare for the Neese family. It's been almost a year since their daughter, 16-year-old daughter Skylar Neese, went missing from Star City. Of course, we now know that she was stabbed to death by two of her high school friends.
In January, Skylar's remains were found in Pennsylvania. The FBI did tests on her body up until this time, and returned it to Greene County, Pennsylvania on Wednesday. Just when the Neese's thought the nightmare was over, they've run into another bump in the road.
The Greene County Coroner, Gregory Rohanna, has refused to give the body back. Skylar's Dad, Dave, said the coroner's reasoning was that he's been kept out of the loop, and needs to do his own tests on her body.
"I said, 'Sir, I don't know why you've been kept out either, and frankly, I don't care. There's one thing I want right now and that's Skylar back'," added Neese.
Prosecutors and the Neese family requested just 10 minutes to spend with Skylar's body to grieve. The coroner's response, according to Neese: "He said, no, he can't do that, it's not feasible."
The family haven't seen their daughter's body since this all began. After all they've been through, they said they've had enough. Dave Neese is prepared to take serious action to get that point across.
"He didn't get the publicity he wanted. I don't know what his problem is. But I'll tell you this: Monday I will go up there, and I'm prepared to be arrested until I get answers."
All that's keeping them from their daughter is the coroner, who needs to sign the death certificate and review the tests.
"We've been through nothing but pure h*** for almost a year. Anybody whose going to continue that h***, is just as sick as the girls who put us here in the first place."
5 News was able to get a a hold of the coroner. He had no comment on the subject. He also did not give the Neese a time or date as to when he'll be done with his tests.
If anyone wants to be a part of the protest to be held on Monday, send Dave Neese a message on Facebook. You can find him by searching for Dave or Mary Earl Neese.
