The Upshur County Commission approved a minor annexation for the new armory that's being built at their meeting Thursday morning.
The armory will now be in Buckhannon's city limits, along with the county's wellness center. The two buildings are the only ones affected by this boundary adjustment.
It'll also allow city police and firefighters to respond there in case of an emergency.
"The area where the new armory will be located will be annexed into the city. That will provide for opportunities for the city to provide services to that area. Law enforcement, water, sewer, all of those opportunities will allow the city to participate," said Donnie Tenney, president of the Upshur County Commission.
The armory is still under construction, and is expected to be finished in a few years.
