Sunday kicked off National School Choice Week all across the country. This event happens every January to show the importance of the need for effective education options for all children.

This is a collaboration of over 200 organizations that do everything they can to help parents make the best decision for their kids. The main focus is to make sure the best educational environment is chosen for each individual child. Whether it be public school, private school, a virtual school setting, or homeschooling. 5 News spoke with a young man Sunday morning that said he's happier now that he's in an environment that best suits him.

"I moved to Notre Dame and now I'm happy with my move to and because the teacher pay attention and there's more one on one help. Teachers had interviews with parents to see what they'd like their kids to learn and see how well they're doing in their home life as well as at school," said Adam McMunn, Student.

5 News also met a very enthusiastic three-year-old who loves having his mom homeschool him everyday. His grandmother said he's at a higher level than most kids his age because of it.

"Math, colors, and numbers," said Carson Higginbotham when he told 5 News what he liked to learn most.
