It's been described as the "Jersey Shore* of West Virginia, and it's coming to a television near you.
A new show on MTV called "Buckwild" premieres in about a month.
Folks with the show tell 5 News it follows a group of nine kids living in the southern part of our state trying to create their own fun.
"West Virginia is a place founded on freedom. For me any my friends that means the freedom to do whatever the f*** we want."
That's how a two minute preview, that was released late Thursday, starts.
One TV critic claims it's building on a growing trend on TV called "redneck reality".
"I don't have no phone, Facebook, and none of that internet stuff," a cast member is seen proclaiming in the clip.
In the preview cast members are seen mud wrestling, slinging trash, driving oversized trucks through the mud, transforming a dump truck into a pool party, and participating in a number of other shenanigans.
Matthew Yates, a Martinsburg native, watched the preview.
"I think it's a terribly negative view on the people around here," Yates said. "It makes everyone else who hasn't been to West Virginia, and isn't from this area, think that's reality. It isn't."
Yates has called the Mountain State home since his he was born.
He told 5 News he's worried a show like "Buckwild" will add to stereotypes he's been fighting all his life.
"I have shoes, I have teeth," Yates said. "I'm not a redneck and I don't live in the woods. I don't hunt everyday of my life. I go to class and I get good grades."
Yates isn't they only one who won't be nominating the show for an Emmy anytime soon.
"You find that everywhere you go," Morgantown resident, Tammy Temple said. "You have the wild and crazy people here, but that's not everyone."

Despite all his hesitations, Yates said he plans to watch the show.
"Probably," Yates said laughing. "I'll probably watch to laugh at how ridiculous it is."
"Buckwild" debuts on MTV on Thursday, January 3 at 10 p.m.

This is the last thing West Virginia needs.

I think that kids are going to have fun no matter what. I also think that not all of us who live in West Virginia act like that either. I know that we are known to be the "hillbilly" state but I am here to tell you that not everyone in West Virginia are hillbillies.
