Reversing diabetes and other major medical issues related to health has been shown to be possible with obesity surgery.

In a new study released last week doctors are continuing to look at the success of patients who have had weight loss surgery, and the significant decline in their health problems because of it.

When weight loss surgery is performed it is to provide the right tool to lose not only the weight, but the medical problems that come along with it.

Doctors want to make sure patients know that weight loss surgery is not a cosmetic procedure and is done only to help patients lose not only their weight, but the medical problems associated with it, that often times are more harmful than the weight itself.

"We always thought of diabetes as a stamp. Once the patients gets this diabetes stamp their a diabetic for life. But now we know that there is hope for these patients and there is a potential cure in some patients." said MD; Ehab Akkary from the General and Weight Loss Surgery Center.

So when we think of the benefits out weighing the risks of surgery, doctors say that when they have patients with health problems such as diabetes or even high blood pressure just being able to hear the patient say i had this, not i have it makes a world of difference.
