Across the country today we honor laborers for all of their contributions to the history of the United States and that was no different in Morgantown.
The Morgantown Olive Garden was one out of 840 Olive Garden's around the country that donated lunch to local fire and police departments and hospital emergency room staffers. Members of the Star City Volunteer Fire Department, Granville Police Department, and Morgantown Police Department all got a great meal from the local Olive Garden. Their General Manager told 5 News that he was happy to be able to participate and give back for the 13th year in a row.
"It's just our way of showing thanks to the community," said Olive Garden GM Dom Guillermo. "The people who serve us give us the opportunity to serve them. [I'm] pretty excited about it [and] pretty proud."
The lunch was done as a special thanks to those who protect and serve, and was probably a welcome sight to those who had to work this Labor Day.
