A man and three of his dogs were killed after a trailer fire in Lewis County.

Around midnight Friday, 911 got a call that the home on Lynn Avenue in Weston was on fire and that the man was trapped inside.  The flames were out within about 10 or 15 minutes of crews being on scene.

The blaze was contained mostly to the living room area, where the man was at the time. The rest of the structure suffered heavy heat and smoke damage.

Firefighters managed to get one of the four dogs out safely. Several neighbors tell 5 News the man was often outside playing with his dogs and that he loved them like his own children. He's described as being in his late 60s and a genuine, nice guy to talk to. Neighbors also said his daughter lives just next door.

Firefighters said they plan on notifying the state fire marshal's office. No word on how it could've started.
