One man was arrested on Friday after he apparently robbed a convenience store in Monongalia County, but investigators are saying it might have been an inside job.
It happened on October 1, at the Valley Mart Convenience Store located on Van Voorhis Road. According to a criminal complaint, store clerk Noah Schumaker claimed a man robbed the store with a gun. He told investigators he got away with nearly $1,000.
Calvin Vance was arrested and admitted he was the man responsible, but during questioning he said it was an inside job that Schumaker set up.
Vance said he did it because Schumaker needed money for an apartment. Vance is charged with armed robbery and Schumaker is already serving time on drug charges.
There's no word yet if he'll be charged as well.
