This weekend, 5 News told you about several off road vehicle accidents at King Knob Off Road Park in Barbour County.

That's gotten a lot of people talking about the safety of the park, and now the owners are speaking out.

They said their first priority is everyone's safety, but when you get more than 3,000 people in one place, accidents are going to happen.

All but one of the six people taken to the hospital have been released. The last person is expected to get out soon.

The park has rules against riding these vehicles without a helmet, and encourage people to take all the safety precautions they can.

They said they just wanted to provide a place for people to have fun, and hope to avoid accidents at all costs.

"We don't want anybody to get hurt. We want the park to succeed, just because it'll be good for the entire area, Barbour, Harrison, the surrounding areas. Everybody that comes there stopped and bought gas, stopped and bought pop, stopped and bought ice," said Chris Wolfe, one of the owners of King Knob. "If we get the support of the community, and get everyone on the same page as far as safety, there shouldn't be any issues."

The owners invite the community out to experience the park before jumping to the conclusion that it's an unsafe atmosphere.
