Tuesday was a special day for some local employees working with disabilities.
About a dozen employees from pace enterprises received awards for their work and personal achievements.
The mission of PACE is to help local people with disabilities find work. PACE helps provide them with training to improve their skills and unique talents, then introduces them to local employers.
On Tuesday, those that were recognized sat through a presentation from officials, and were even given a special surprise appearance by the WVU mountaineer.
"Hard-working. They are very hard working, they give as much as they can, and we have them out in the community and their very visible. So, we like to take the opportunity to thank them and let them know how special they are." said Ron Lytle, President of the PACE Board of Directors.
Officials from PACE said presentations like these help show their participants how special, and appreciated they truly are.
