A piece of asphalt has somehow fallen from the Sycamore Street Bridge in Clarksburg onto Route 50 below.

The incident was reported around 4:00 Friday afternoon. Crews were on scene within minutes, and had to shut down one lane of 50 headed toward Bridgeport. The lane has since been reopened. Workers are putting a metal plate on top of the hole for now until they can jackhammer around the hole and safely make repairs.
