Wind affects drivers in more than one way when the gusts get strong. It makes it hard to navigate your car and obstacles are put in your way as you're driving down the road.

There's nothing we can do to control Mother Nature. If storms do produce high winds, there are some things we can do to make sure we stay safe during that time. First and foremost, don't drive fast. You may see a certain speed limit posted on the side of the road. If  the weather conditions become so bad, don't go that fast if you can't control your car. The winds can actually move your car a little and the faster you are going, there's a higher chance for it.

The wind can cause tree limbs and power lines to land in the roads. If you aren't aware of your surroundings, you may not notice them on the
ground.

Always take your time during storms and take all the precautions necessary to make sure you arrive where you are going safely.
