Monday was a big day for Obama, but it was also Martin Luther King Junior Day. 5 News went out to Upshur County to see how people felt about both of these occasions falling on the same day.
Many thought it was significant that these two celebrations fell on the same day and a lot of people said they thought king would be proud to share it.
"I think it's really prolific that we have an African American President. I don't know that Dr. King would have imagined that this day would come as soon as it did. I just think it's really great that you have two really strong role models that are African American men trying to do their best thing they can for their country. I actually think it's very inspiring, I don't think it takes away from it. I think it adds to it," said Katie Loudin, Coordinator for Outreach and Leadership at West Virginia Wesleyan College.
Monday is also known as a day of service, so try to go out and do something for your community.
