A region wide texting scam is targeting cell phone users all over the area.

The scam targets multiple service carriers and claims to be an alert from MVB Bank. A text message tells users to call and reactivate their cards by calling the number that's given. Officials are warning that this is not an MVB Bank communication and to not call the number.

Texting scams like this one are illegal and should be reported to authorities. If you've received this text message, you can report it online at the Internet Crime Complaint Center. Just go to www.ic3.gov to file a complaint.
For more information, you can also visit the Federal Trade Commission's website at www.FTC.gov.
