Report: Alleged Chemical Warfare Activity in Syria

Multiple reports have said Syria might have used chemical warfare this week and President Obama said it's definitely a cause for concern.

He said the United States is going to hold off on any large scale action at the moment.

According to reports, the alleged chemical attack killed at least 100 people. Reports said the attack is most likely from the Syrian President's regime that is fighting against the rebels.

Obama said it would be difficult for the United State to end Syria's bloody civil war alone. He made it clear he would seek international support before taking any drastic action.

He also wants to be absolutely sure about the attack. He's still looking for conclusive evidence about it.

The fighting has been going on for more than two years and about 100,000 people have been killed.

Lewis County resident William King said, "It's a shame that any government would resort to using chemical welfare against its own people, especially since chemical warfare has been banned in most countries."

A few weeks ago, Obama's administration said it was prepared to start giving assistance to rebel groups, but the supplies have yet to arrive. Some people in our area agree with him about holding off on the situation.

Lewis County resident Michelle Carpenter said, "I still think we need to be extremely careful and not go in with guns blazing before we know all the facts."

There are many others who are opposed to Obama's stance. One person is Senator John McCain, R-AZ. He said Obama has damaged his credibility by not taking more determined steps to stop the violence.

Iraq had over 400,000 dead innocent citizens murdered by Sadaam. Syria has 1,500 murdered. Liberal democrats did NOT want Bush to go into Iraq and STOP Sadaams murdering rampage. Liberal democrats WANT us to go into a war with Syria. ' Explain your positions democrats!!!

My lord, please clarify your anti-Bush anti-Iraq stance yet pro-Obama pro-Syria war stance!! Hypocritical stand I'd say.

WOW; someone sure has a very thin skin like Obama. Both cannot take criticism or other opinions or facts. Typical of the left in this country. Someone who is posting in here just keeps 'proving' this point!

My lord, please clarify your anti-Obama material? Baseless accusations need substantiated. And Benghazi? Only Fox (and its ilk--Rush and Beck) harps about that--made up scandal.

Now, on August 6, 2001, Bush received warning that we would be attacked by Bin Laden. He did nothing, we were attacked. Was that a "scandal"? Benghazi, socialist, progressive--we can see through your racist innuendos. (Jesus was a Progressive, by the way . . . think about it--but that is something people can't do today is think critically--simply tout what Fox says is true. I like Obama, but this Syria thing is wrong--that is critical thought: being able to decide something regardless of whom you like in office.)

Did someone just say Obama ended war in Iraq? Really? Uh....we still have troops in Iraq. Someone needs to keep up with the news instead of listening and repeating administrative liberal lies.

Uh, Obama said first thing he'd do was shut down Abu Ghraib too. Did he do it? No! Someone's comments are wishful thinking not facts!!

Just in case news gets to WV reporters slower....here's the scoop from the Obama administration albeit, mistakenly admitted by State Dept. spokeswoman Marie Harf, who let the 'cat out of the bag' yesterday when she admitted to reporters that the United States government (aka...this Obama administration)is not sure whether President Bashar Assad of Syria ordered the chemical attack or whether the rebels or someone else did.

But hey...John Kerry, Obama's picked new Secretary of State and radical progressive liberals like Obama, Hillary and others don't care about PROOF; they're all willing and ready to start a WWIII!

Just a reminder to Obama that he must FIRST seek Congressional Approval as he and other liberals in congress told President Bush before we went into Iraq and found 400,000 dead innocent people buried that Sadaam murdered, BEFORE committing U.S. Troops and/or resources to starting war in Syria!!

Amazingly hypocritical radical democrats in congress and Obama don't feel the "need" to provide PROOF of weapons of mass destruction for Obama's 'war threats' as they obviously ranted, raved and screamed about before Bush going into Iraq. I guess same rules, laws, don't apply when you're a radical liberal. And they wonder why no one believes them any longer. Pfft!

Syria is Obama's 'weapon of mass "distraction."'

Why would anyone have to explain to "you" 'why' Obama sent more troops into Afghanistan when Obama himself refuses to 'explain himself?' He's the most dangerous president this country's had in a long time. He's made things worse and more dangerous by his inactions and incompetence. And he's hired other incompetents like Hillary and we see what happened in Benghazi and how their 'inaction' got our embassy workers murdered.

Your words are all over the place. You do not carry an argument and have zero facts to support your premise. What wars has he started? Where is the chaos here that is fresh to his presidency? Why don't you explain why he sent more troops into Afghanistan (Gen. Petraeus), or that he ended Iraq, or that the troops are withdrawing from Afghanistan? You are slanted, biased, and absent from logical thought. (For what it is worth, I was against Iraq and am against Syria--but I don't play politics with it--will you level the same criticism at GWB for Iraq?)

Obama likes to pretend he doesn't like warring yet that's all he's done his entire administration is butt into other countries' business. He's helped create all the chaos here and abroad. This is the most divisive negative working/acting administration of all time. He keeps telling us he doesn't want wars, yet he himself in the beginning sent MORE troops into Afghanistan than Bush even did. He's bypassed Congress several times to increase the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan and continues to do as HE pleases instead of following the protocols and rules of law by congress voting FIRST which is 'required' under our Constitution. Now he picks John Kerry to join in his top administrative organizations and what is Kerry harping about? About how the United States MUST intervene in Syria. Don't tell me Obama doesn't like war. I wasn't born yesterday.

It is very sad that the innocent civilians of Syria are living under such oppression, but this is a civil war that they need to fight themselves. The U.S. has enough problems here in our own country; we shouldn't run into these other countries with our guns blazing to take part in a civil matter that is none of our business. How would our country react if military troops from a foreign country suddenly arrived here and began using force in a situation such as the prison hunger strike or the rioting after the Trayvon Martin verdict? I don't imagine we would be very pleased if the shoe was on the other foot.
