On Thursday and Friday, 5 News received rumors that a telemarketing company in Lewis County would be shutting its doors. On Friday, that seemed to be true.
Employees with 1 2 1 Direct Response in Weston said they got a memo Friday stating that the company's last day would be May 28. They did not say a reason for the closing but said 186 men and women would be out of a job when it closed.
Reporters reached out to company officials on Thursday and were told no decision had been made. Calls were made again on Friday, but they hadn't been returned.
