Rescue Crews Believe Missing Monongalia County Man Is Still Alive

It's been more than two days since an elderly man with Alzheimer's disappeared.
79-year-old Laurence Nichol wandered away from his daughter's home on Turtle Creek Drive on Tuesday.
Rescuers are still clinging to the hope that he's still alive.
Crews searching for him came up empty, but they were able to rule out some possible locations and narrow the search area.
"Statistics say he could still be alive," Christian Roper, with Mountaineer Area Rescue said. "The fact that he could still be alive means it's a search and rescue mission. We've had several missions before beat the statistics."
Despite an overwhelming outpour of support from volunteers, officials plan to use the professional search and rescue teams on Friday, and then open the search back up to volunteers this weekend.
