Saturday marked the end of Bridgeport's Restaurant Week.
The idea of restaurant week came from wanting to promote the Bridgeport Farmer's Market. Restaurants in town were convinced to use entrees made with food from the market. Throughout the week, several local musicians played as well. But on Saturday at the Brickside Bar and Grille, a jazz band with members from New York, Canada, and Sweden provided the entertainment.
5 News talked to a very grateful coordinator during the event.
"I want to thank everybody for coming out and supporting and anybody that came to a restaurant this week and anybody that came out to hear jazz. I hope they enjoyed it," said Restaurant Week Coordinator Bob Workman. "I'm looking for feedback from it. We have a Facebook page set up: 'Bridgeport Restaurant Week.' They can go to post and let us know what they think."
If you missed Restaurant Week this year, good news! You only have to wait 51 more weeks until the next one.
The Farmer's Market will be canceled Sunday and the Country Roads Cook-Off scheduled for Sunday will be rescheduled.
