A local hospital has upgraded it's facility to better serve patients.
Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston held the grand-reopening of it's Orthopedic and Pulmonary Office Wednesday afternoon. The building has been updated to today's standards due to a increase in orthopedic staff. A new pulmonologist now shares the building with three orthopedists.
While attending the open house, the crowd had the opportunity to sign up to become an organ donor. Last month was National Donate Life Month and seventy-one people signed up at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital to become an organ donor. However, thanks to the Center for Organ Recovery and Education, the hospital is extending the sign-up effort thru August.
SJMH is competing with other hospitals in the state to increase the number of donors.
