Barbour County Sheriff John Hawkins has been making headlines for the past, week after a woman filed a lawsuit claiming he sexually assaulted her.

Well, it looks like it's not close to being over. That's another suit has been filed, and this time, for defamation.

Franklin Streets is a private investigator, and he claims Hawkins made statements about him on his personal Facebook page that weren't true.

Hawkins said he heard investigators were paying people to sign false statements in the other lawsuit against him. Hawkins didn't identify anyone by name in his Facebook post, but Streets believes the post was about him.

This is all over a federal suit filed by Brittany Keene that says the sheriff sexually assaulted her in 2011.

Hawkins has denied the claims, but Keene's lawyers said they have proof it's true.

This new case was filed in Barbour County Circuit Court.
