A man from Shinnston is behind bars because State Police in Monongalia County claim they found out he was trying to make meth. Investigators are saying they made the discovery after he crashed his pick-up truck on purpose.

According to State Police, Jonathon Cochran led troopers on a chase in December 2013. He eventually wrecked his truck and then allegedly took off running. Troopers weren't able to find him at the scene.

Apparently there were three other people in the truck at the time. State Police arrested those individuals. Following the arrest troopers searched the vehicle which is when they found a backpack full of supplies for making meth.
