"All we want to do is bury our daughter." That's the plea coming from the family of murdered teen Skylar Neese.
Dave Neese, Skylar's father, told 5 News on Thursday that hasn't happened yet because the coroner in Greene County, Pennsylvania hasn't returned Skylar's death certificate.
Court documents indicate Skylar was brutally murdered last July and then dumped on a back road in Greene County. It wasn't until January until police found her body.
A couple of weeks ago Skylar's body was returned to the Mountain State so the Neese's could see her.
The problem the Neese's are running into now is that the coroner in Greene County still hasn't returned Skylar's death certificate. That's an issue because reportedly the funeral homes won't have a service without that piece of paper.
Dave told 5 News he had a deal worked out where he would get Skylar's death certificate on Thursday, but that hadn't happened as of 5 p.m.
During a phone interview Dave pleaded for this process to stop, saying all he wants to do is lay his little girl to rest.
"I don't want anymore stuff happening," he said. "This is ridiculous. All Mary and I want is have a normal life again, and that's not happening."
5 News reached out to the coroner in Greene County on Thursday, but he refused to comment on the story.
Jul 13, 2013 at 9:56 AMDoes the Greene County Coroner have something against the Neese family. It is like he is intentionally causing heartache and pain to them. Perhaps we should protest out front of their office? Nothing violent just a sit in? I don't want to cause trouble, but heaven forbid that this was happening to him? How would he feel?
