Now that Black Friday is officially over, you may have thought all the good deals have ended. But since Saturday was Small Business Saturday, there were still a lot of good deals if you looked in the right places.
Many people like to go to the big department stores and the name brand shops, but sometimes that can get a little crazy. Some shoppers we caught up with told me the real deals are found in small places.
"It was crazy. Throwing things, like grabbing things, and fighting people for stuff. Yeah, they would jump on top of things, unwrap it, and grab it," said friends from Harrison County.
If you head down to local businesses near you, usually they're not as crowded and sometimes you can get a better deal.
"It's a boutique so your clothes are going to be different. I try to find things that are unique and really different looking. You're not going to find them at your regular department stores," said Valerie Howe, Owner of 'Howe Cute'.
They may offer a larger variety of items, but they definitely pride themselves off of their customer service.
"The individual attention we can give to our customers and our customers have become our friends over the years. So we get to know each other on a personal basis and we enjoy that," said Cathy Goings, Owner of 'Embellishments' and 'Wicked Sisters.'
Saturday was Small Business Saturday and owners are looking forward to the rest of the holiday season.
"Typically everyone rushes to the mall and everything on Black Friday. So this is our special day for all of the local small businesses. Today basically kicks off our holiday shopping," said Goings.
"Shop local because we need you to survive," said Howe.
Be sure to head down to your local small businesses to change things up and help them out.
