Some students at West Virginia Wesleyan College were out cleaning up roads this weekend. as a part of the Adopt-A-Highway program.
Brothers from the Theta Xi Fraternity spent the afternoon cleaning up Stoney Run Road, which is right outside of Buckhannon. It's something they do every year to give back to the community. One brother says if you get a group together, adopting a highway is quick and easy. He says you only have to spend an hour or so on the road and it's a great feeling.
"It makes me pick up trash other places too. If I'm just walking down the road and I see a soda can or something like that, I just pick it up. Go out and participate. Volunteer anywhere you can, even if it's not for adopt-a-highway. Just keep the trash in your car until you get home. Put a trash bag in your car and throw it in there and when you get back to your house take it inside," said William Herpel, Theta Xi Brother.
