Now that most of us have had some time to digest our turkey it's time to start looking forward to Christmas.
If a new iPad or iPhone is on your holiday wish list this year you might want to check that list twice. That's because according to a researcher we're getting dumber!
He claims it can partially be blamed on our love of little gadgets and gizmos.
"Absolutely we're dumb," Laura Bebout, a Pennsylvania resident, said. "We're so smart we're dumb."
According to a researcher from California, Gerald Crabtree, she's not too far off.
Crabtree is a a biologist from the University of Stanford and he believes our intelligence peaked when we were all hunters and gatherers. That's because we were forced to think critically to survive.
Now thanks to stuff like the computer, or as he says easy living, there's more dumb people.
"Absolutely we're dumb," Andy Carl, a Pennsylvania resident, claims. "As technology becomes greater and greater we are becoming more dependent on it."
However, not everyone is on board with Crabtree's claims.
"The innovations that lead us through today and tomorrow show the deepening of our brain power," Chuck Kerzak, a Morgantown resident, said. "That proves that we're not becoming more stupid."
Crabtree's paper goes on to say that apparently we have it so easy that our genetics are could mutate again. That would cause us to take a step back and become even dumber.
"Certainly Google is amazing," Evan Widders, a Morgantown resident, said. "Whenever I have a question I don't go to the library, like most people, I just Google it. Are we stupider? I guess in someways we are."
