The life and works of Dr. Martin Luther King were honored all around the country Monday, and our area was no exception.
A service of remembrance was held for Dr. King Monday night at the United Methodist Temple in downtown Clarksburg. The event was sponsored by the Greater Clarksburg Cooperative Parish.
The crowd sang hymns, joined in prayer and listened to a summary of the works of Dr. King by reverend James Harris from the AME Church of Clarksburg.
Many at the event said it was a day they will never forget, with Martin Luther King Day coinciding with the inauguration of President Barack Obama.
