Students may be out of school for the summer, but that doesn't mean they have to stop learning.

For the past two days hundreds of kids came out to Ferguson Park in Shinnston to see History Hitting the Road. This is a traveling exhibit sponsored by the Bice-Ferguson Museum that takes you back in time to the 1800's. Organizers say this is a way to experience the culture of that era with hands on activities instead of from a class room or a computer screen.

"It's a chance for them to see history as it was and actually live it. It makes it come alive for them and I think it's a wonderful program," said Mary Ann Ferris, Vice Chairmen of the Museum.

Ferris said the kids favorite part was making their own candle and learning how to tie different kinds of knots.
