A new poll about religion showed that a growing number of you don't think it's all that important. The survey showed that about 20% of you feel it's not that important when it comes to daily life.
Researchers said this is the highest percentage since the survey was first conducted 17 years ago. It showed that those who were less religious were more likely to be men and have an income over $75,000.
They're also more likely to live in the Northeast or West and be under the age of 35. Many of you had different theories for why this could be.
"To me, the biggest part of it is that people think they have to get cleaned up for church, wear fancy clothes. Things have changed so much. People don't have as much time for it, too many activities," said Yvonne Trusky, a Philippi resident.
Another man said religion isn't around as much as it used to be.
"When I was growing up, we had religion in school. They took all that out. Kids just aren't expected to do that now. I mean, when I was younger I was forced to go to church on the weekends," said Dave Merkel, a Hepzibah resident.
Experts said while the number of those who are non-religious is on the rise, about 50% of you still consider religion to be very important.
