Around midnight Wednesday, flames destroyed a home in Barbour County and that shut down Route 57 for a while.
When firefighters got to the two story home with additions built on it, flames were shooting out of the roof. The remains of that structure sits not far from Indian Fork Road on the Route 57 hill.
No one was living there but the electric was still hooked up. Officials say a trailer had just been demolished next to the home a couple days ago, but another sits next to it and the windows in that were broken out.
That leads them to believe someone set fire to the left side of the home hoping the trailer would catch fire as well.
Units from Harrison County were called in to assist.
