One local health care agency helped people sign up for healthcare Saturday before the deadline at the end of this month.
Community Care of West Virginia hosted the event. Their goal was to educate people about the act and help them enroll. In-person assisters were on hand to answer any questions.
Time is running out to sign up. For those of you who haven't gotten the chance to yet, the deadline for the open enrollment period is March 31st. Those enrolling before the end of the month would have their coverage start may first of this year. If you don't take advantage of the open period, you may face a penalty.
"It is really important within the next 16 days if you make above the income limits for the expanded Medicaid to make sure that you either get online, call the 800 number, or come talk to one of us in order to get the private insurance plans," said Kristi Walker, the Director of Enrollment and Outreach for Community Care of West Virginia.
Here are more tips to help you get started if you're lagging behind.
You can check out healthcare.gov to explore the different plans. If you would like to talk to someone in person, you can call the toll free number at 1-800-318-2596. Don't forget the deadline is March 31st.
Mar 17, 2014 at 6:03 AMI wouldn't sign up for this TAXATION. The fine is cheaper and the insurance is NO insurance at all. Obama's lawyers ADMITTED at the SCOTUS that it WAS a TAX! And that it surely is!
