A man charged in the death of his girlfriend's son won't head to trial at the end of the month as originally planned.

Police believe 19-year-old Corey Burkhart died during a struggle with Gary Allen Wiant last year. Wiant was charged with second degree murder for his death and he's been out on bond.

The state asked for the trial to be delayed because the medical examiner who investigated Burkhart's death is no longer working around here. Wiant's trial is now set for the end of February.
