CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Three University of Charleston men's basketball players have been charged in a downtown robbery.
Charleston police filed a criminal complaint alleging two people were robbed early Sunday of cash and a credit card that were then used to make purchases.
Kanawha County Magistrate Court records show 20-year-old Terrell Lipkins of Canton, Ohio, 22-year-old Robbie Dreher of Greenville, S.C., and 22-year-old Quincy Washington of Florence, S.C., each are charged with first-degree robbery. Lipkins, the team's leading scorer, also is charged with four counts of credit card fraud.
They were being held on bond Wednesday in the South Central Regional Jail. Jail records didn't indicate whether they had attorneys.
University President Ed Welch says the players have been dismissed from the Division II team.
