Update:

Assistant State Fire Marshal Mackey Ayersman has been unable to locate three or more people who are reportedly from Ohio who stay in the home a few times a month. They have apparently left the area. A neighbor said around 6:00 a.m. they were there and said there was a fire in the back of the house.

Original Story:

Firefighters couldn't save a house in Wallace after flames got to it Thursday morning. It happened just before 6:00 a.m. at a home on Rinehart Road in Wallace.

Crews say the house was covered in flames by the time they got there. Nobody was home and nobody was hurt, but the home was ruled a total loss.

There's no word on where the fire started. The State Fire Marshal's Office will be called in to investigate.
