An arrest has been made hours after a WVU student was stabbed to death at a popular bar in Morgantown.
According to a press release, officers conducted a traffic stop around 8:30 p.m. along Wagner Road Morgantown. That's where they arrested 33-year-old Robert Hernandez of Cumberland, Maryland. He is charged with first degree murder. Investigators say Hernandez stabbed 19-year-old Devante Waites to death at Bent Willey's, Thursday.
Waites is a former Fairmont Senior High School basketball player who graduated in 2013.
Detectives are still conducting interviews and processing potential evidence. Morgantown Police, the Mon Valley Drug Task Force and U.S. Marshal's Office Mountain State Fugitive Task Force retrieved various video surveillance images and interviewed several witnesses in this case.
