The task force is a combination of resources from federal, state and local law enforcement agencies. Within the Northern District of West Virginia, there's 31 participating agencies which include 3 full-time task force officers and 77 part-time officers.

U.S. Marshal Gary Gaskins said, "I am pleased with the efforts and hard work members of the Mountain State Fugitive Task Force have spent in apprehending 941 fugitives wanted by various law enforcement agencies. These individuals represent the worse of the worse and to locate and arrest these nefarious individuals speaks volumes of the tremendous work by these dedicated law enforcement officers throughout the Northern District of West Virginia. Because of their exemplary service, these individuals are no longer roaming the streets, thus making our communities a much safer place to live. As the U.S. Marshal, I am extremely proud of the Mountain State Fugitive Task Force and the members that serve indefatigability in the pursuit of wanted felons."
