The United Way of Harrison County hosted their first ever golf tournament to help raise funds for their 2015 campaign. The outing was sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Clarksburg.
Twenty teams will duke it out to see who will be the winner. They're playing in a four-person scramble format. Organizers said most of the participants are businesses, community members and friends of the United Way.
They hope to raise as much as $10,000 from their efforts. They'll use this money to help the 19 agencies they serve.
"We're very excited about this. We had a great turnout. It's a way to raise awareness about what United Way does and bring the community together," said James Swiger, the 2015 Campaign Chair.
The event will wrap up at about 5:30 this evening. They hope to make this an annual event.
