It was a beautiful day Wednesday for a walk outside and that's exactly what people at the VA Medical Center did. They spent their morning walking for homeless veterans.

This is the third year organizers have put on this event and they said they're always happy to see people helping out. One woman said a lot of people don't realize that veterans can be homeless too. The main goal of this event is to just raise awareness, but they also accepted money donations.
"It's extremely important to support the cause of providing donations and supporting homeless veterans in our area. Just becoming aware of the fact that it is an issue for us here. It is a problem. It's a large problem for our area," said Angela Wagner, Homeless Programs Manager.

If you didn't make it out Wednesday you can still donate. Just call Voluntary Services at the VA. Their number is 304- 623- 3461 ext. 3932.
