The WVU School of Pharmacy teamed up with a local business to raise money for the American Cancer Society and had some fun doing it.
Every semester the School of Pharmacy holds a fundraiser to support their Relay for Life team and this spring it was Vera Bradley Bingo.
Third Street Trading in Elkins donated the designer bags that were given to Bingo winners. All of the money raised from the fundraiser and Relay for Life will go to the American Cancer Society.
"We have a table here with a girl from the American Cancer Society and she has been talking about different kinds of cancers and all the things the money from the ACS goes towards. It goes to things like wigs for cancer patients, it goes to provide money for the Hope Lodge which is where cancer patients and their families can stay when they're receiving chemo and it also goes to fund cancer research," said Amber Gawer.
Over 50 people came out to the event and played 20 games of Bingo.
