On Saturday afternoon over 250 seniors and graduate students joined the ranks of the 15,000 West Virginia Wesleyan alumni.
The two-hour Commencement ceremony began at 10 AM in the Rockefeller Gym. The 123rd Wesleyan Commencement brought great pride to the school and to the parents who finally got to see their child or children as college graduates.
"I'm very excited. She's going on to Grad School at WVU," said Marlene Johnson, mother of recent Wesleyan graduate Kayla Johnson.
"This is something that every child should do. They should go on to college and get their education. We are very proud of this one," added Kayla's father, Randy Johnson.
Students were also happy to get their Diplomas. They told us those last few weeks of studying finally paid off. After the ceremony, all graduates, family members, faculty, and other guests ate lunch in one of the dining halls for the final time in their collegiate careers.
