More than 150 people were running through the streets of Clarksburg on Saturday morning for the annual West Virginia Italian Heritage Festival 5K.
The race started on Main Street at 8:30 a.m. Runners then went to Pike Street, North 4th Street, Glen Elk, Baltimore Avenue, and North 6th Street. The race finished at the Jackson Square parking facility. The festival chairman said this run is a good reminder that the festival is coming soon.
"It's the first thing that kind of kicks off the festival. It's the first event that we have in the summer time. It's just a way for us to remind people that our festival is coming up, and get ready for preparations for the weekend," Tyler Terango told 5 News.
Medals were awarded for the top overall male and female participants as well as the top finishers in their age groups.
