Hundreds of West Virginia Wesleyan College graduates moved their tassels from right to left Saturday as they celebrated graduation. Students that have put in four to six years of hard work walked across the stage to start the next course of their life.
The commencement speaker, Dr. Lewis Cantley, led groundbreaking research when it comes to understanding cancer cells. He had all sorts of great advice to offer the graduates, like surrounding yourself with brilliant people and going after your passion.
One graduate who's going to be an elementary school teacher said it's a bittersweet moment.
"It was awesome getting to see my friends walk across the stage and cheering for them after all our hard work and the memories we've made. It's definitely been a great experience here at Wesleyan and I'm so excited to see where everybody goes," said Jasmyne Cummings, a WVWC graduate.
After the ceremony, graduates and their families were able to enjoy a luncheon to get one last taste of Wesleyan.
