41 years, that's how long one Harrison County woman has been working at the McDonald's on Emily Drive, but Thursday afternoon at 1:00 she officially started her retirement.

Helen Davis has spent four decades working there and she told 5 News it's so much more than a fast food restaurant. She met her husband working there and her daughter worked at the one in Nutter Fort. So, she said it really has been a family affair.

Thursday, family and friends gathered to celebrate her last shift and it was emotional to say the least.

"She just brings a tremendous attitude. 41 years ago she did and she does today as well. It's very sad to see her go, but she's part of the McDonald's family. I know we'll stay in touch, but she'll be on the other side of the counter now," said John Ebert, Store Owner.

"It's all the people that I'm going to miss. All the people that I work with and all the customers. It's going to be hard leaving them," said Davis.

Davis said now she plans to spend her time volunteering.

Good point commenter below. It always amazes me that average citizens do better at reporting more accurately than the "professionals." lol.

She deserves it. I could NOT have worked there for that long.
