A 30-year-old Clarksburg woman was sentenced Tuesday after she ran over her boyfriend with her car, which later killed him.

Amber Smith will spend the next three to fifteen years behind bars for the death of Roscoe Keener Junior. The two of them were fighting before she ran him over and dragged him several feet along Philippi Pike in Anmoore. Keener died almost four months later.

The Exponent Telegram is reporting that Smith will receive credit for the 14 months she already has served. She also was fined $4,000 on top of being ordered to pay about $20,000 total restitution.

Smith blamed drugs for her actions. She said she was under the influence of heroin, Xanax, and alcohol when it happened.

Smith was sentenced for DUI causing death.
