5 NEWS UPDATE (2/28):
On February 27, 2014, an additional student/victim contacted Corporal Brewer and advised him of an incident which is alleged to have occurred in May 2013.  Corporal Brewer was able to establish probable cause to arrest Mr. Weekley for second degree sexual assault and first degree sexual abuse on Friday, February 28, 2014.  He was arraigned in Ritchie County Magistrate Court.  The West Virginia State Police is requesting anyone with further information concerning this investigation to please contact Corporal J. L. Brewer at 304-643-2101.
Ritchie County Schools Superintendent Edward Toman sent the following statement to 5 News Friday:
"Administration is aware of the recent arrest and serious allegations concerning a professional employee of the Ritchie County Board of Education.  Appropriate personnel action will be taken, and it is anticipated that I will make an initial personnel recommendation to the Board on March 10th at our regular meeting. Because this matter involves personnel, I am unable to make any further comments.  I will say, that both as the Superintendent and father of a child in our school system, we make every effort to keep our students safe from harm.  I can assure you that the allegations will continue to be thoroughly investigated and appropriate action will be taken."

A Ritchie County High School Teacher has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a male student.

43-year-old David P. Weekley apparently performed sexual acts on the student in a closet at the school. Weekley also reportedly touched him inappropriately in an empty room in the same building on a different day.

Weekley is listed on the Ritchie County Board of Education website as a teacher in special education. 5 News tried calling county school officials, but we have not heard back from anyone yet.

Weekley has been charged with second degree sexual assault, first degree sexual abuse, and two counts of sexual abuse by a parent/custodian. He was arraigned in Ritchie County Magistrate Court and posted a $100,000 bond.

A lot of people 'knew' other 'guilty' sexual perverts who claimed innocency too; but eventually admitted it in court. Just because one knows someone doesn't mean their 'innocent.'

And anyone can have their opinions on here...not just 'special' ones. Not everyone in life is going to 'agree' with you. Might want to realize that as it will happen from time to time. Wonder what you'll say when he's found guilty and finally admits it? Hmm...

A google search for WV teachers arrested for sexually abusing their students is getting out of hand. What is our Governor going to do about this? Citizens and parents are getting pretty sick and tired of entrusting our children to PERVERTS!!!

Lock him up and throw away the key. ANY person in authority over children, who abuse that authority should ALWAYS been given a double sentence! Will they go after this dispicable parasite like they do 'parents' caught abusing their children...or will the teachers union once again 'support' the abuser?? Time will tell. Where are you Governor on all these teachers abusing children? Where's our legislators' responses to this continuing epidemic on society????
