UPDATE: Thursday, August 14, 6:30 p.m.
 
The bar where Wednesday's fatal stabbing occurred released a statement on Thursday night.
 
The statement posted on the Bent WIlley's Facebook page reads, "We at Bent Willeys are deeply saddened by the tragic events of last night. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Waites family. We will continue to work with the MPD in anyway possible to ensure justice is brought in this terrible event. We will be closed tonight. Our apologies."
 
According to the Bent Willey's website, Wednesday night was an 18+ event.
 
UPDATE: Thursday, August 14, 4:15 p.m.
 
Morgantown Police have the man who was killed in a stabbing early Thursday morning.
 
Investigators said 19-year-old Devante Waites was stabbed in the abdomen inside Bent Willey's on Chestnut Street around 12:45 a.m. Waites was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital where he later died.
 
Waites is a 2013 graduate of Fairmont Senior High School. He was a member of the basketball team there.
 
Officers with the Morgantown Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Mountain State Fugitive Task Force continue to investigate. They have gathered surveillance pictures and have interviewed a number of witnesses.

Early Thursday morning Morgantown Police were called out to a reported stabbing.
 
According to a press release, officers found the victim in the area near Chestnut Street.
 
He was then transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital for treatment.
