5 News Update:
Officials have released the name of the woman who was killed in a fire early Sunday morning.
Investigators told 5 News that 54-year old Lois McDonald was the woman killed. Officials said her body was found in the living room. They said it looked like McDonald was overcome trying to get out of the house.
The landlord who owns the home told 5 News that McDonald had lived there alone for about a year.
There's still no word on what started the fire.
A fire at a home in Monongalia County killed one woman early Sunday morning.
The fire started around 3:00 a.m. at a home on Sherwood Avenue in Star City. Officials said there was one woman inside the home when the fire broke out and she didn't make it out. The woman's name has not been released, but according to the State Fire Marshal's Office the woman was 54 years old.
The cause of the fire is unknown. The Star City Volunteer Fire Department is investigating.
