5 NEWS UPDATE: Police Say Grandmother Accidentally Shoots Grandson

An 11-year-old boy was shot and killed Sunday night in Harrison County. Monday, Sheriff Albert Marano told 5 News that the boy's grandmother accidentally shot him. Tina Owens, 57, lives right next to her grandson, William Owens, in Jarvisville.

According to Sheriff Marano, just before midnight the grandmother heard something or someone outside of her house, so she went outside to see if there were possible intruders. She told police to scare away whatever could have been there, she started firing her pistol multiple times. Sheriff's Deputies said they believe one of the shots went down about 200 yards, through her grandson's house, and into his chest while he was laying asleep in bed.

The investigation is still on-going and once it's over a report will be sent to the prosecuting attorney's office. .


A young boy was killed on Sunday night after a shooting in Harrison County.

It happened around 11:45 p.m. on Jarvisville Road.

Investigators aren't releasing much about what happened.

The Harrison County Sheriff's Department is in charge of the investigation.

What an ignorant stupid woman. Uh, how smart does one have to be to know you would NOT want to fire your weapon at the house or any house that your grandson is inside. Should be accountable just for being the most stupidest woman on the planet. It appears each generation just get more stupid.
