5 NEWS UPDATE 4:30 PM 9/4/2013:

Officials at Alderson Broaddus University said after looking at the case, it's been discovered that not all of the people arrested on Sunday were football players.

They said while all of them identified themselves as football players, it turned out that wasn't the case.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Several members of the Alderson-Broaddus University football team have been arrested, after apparently running from police.

Police originally responded to a house on Beech Street in Philippi early Sunday morning for a noise complaint. After seeing people with open alcohol containers, police said they noticed several people running out of the back of the home. Several officers chased them, and they turned out to be eight members of the Alderson-Broaddus football team.

They were arrested and charged with Fleeing on Foot. None of their names have been released.

Alderson-Broaddus University is set to play its first regular season varsity home game in over 80 years this Saturday.

Speak volumes as to your football team's physical conditioning if a bunch of old donut munchers can run them down in a foot chase!
